Developing low-cost, renewable sources of energy and better methods for increasing the energy efficiency of existing energy sources while simultaneously reducing the pollution they produce are each critical not only our nation’s future by the globe as a whole.
Green Energy At Texas (GREAT) is a program that puts Austin Community College students in contact with researchers at the University of Texas at Austin working in the area of green energy. During the summer, GREAT offers summer internships that allow ACC students to work in a research laboratory in either the Departments of Chemistry or Chemical Engineering at UT Austin under the guidance of a faculty research mentor. For students interested in a career in a research laboratory, GREAT offers first-hand experience in that area.
Both full-time paid internships (40 hours/week) and part-time internships (10 hours/week) for ACC course credit are available.
